Oh Ji-Min (Hangul: 오지민; born on (1988-05-27) May 27, 1988 (age 36) in Seoul, South Korea), better known by her stage name J-Min (Hangul: 제이민; Japanese: error: {{nihongo}}: Japanese or romaji text required (help)), is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress mostly active in Japan since 2007 and South Korea since 2014 under the labels of SM Entertainment and EMI Records (and formerly with Avex Group[1]). She can speak three languages: her native Korean, Japanese, and English.

Music career

2007: Debut in Japan, Dream On.., and Korogaru Ringo (ころがる林檎)

On May 25, 2007, J-Min debuted with a digital single "Dream On.." in Japan. On September 12, 2007, J-Min released her first Japanese mini-album titled "Korogaru Ringo (ころがる林檎)".

2008: Dream On.., and The Singer

On January 16, 2008, J-Min made her comeback with her second Japanese mini-album titled "Dream On..", naming after a single of the same name released in the previous year.

J-Min made her second comeback with the cover album "The Singer" which consists entirely based on singing the songs which were already recorded and released previously by other artistes' on November 19, 2008.

2012: Stand Up of the OST for To The Beautiful You

It debuted as the closing song for each episode.

2009-2013: Change/One, If You Want, and Heart Theater

On May 27, 2009, J-Min released a digital Japanese single titled "Change/One".

On November 21, 2012, J-Min released another digital Japanese single titled "If You Want".

On March 13, 2013, J-Min released her fourth (overall) digital Japanese single titled "Heart Theater".

2014: Cross The Border, Debut in Korea with Hoo and Shine

On January 21, 2014, J-Min released her second Japanese album "Cross The Border" with the title track being "Sorry".

J-Min performed "Hoo" on June 19's broadcast of Mnet's M! Countdown, June 20's broadcast of KBS's Music Bank, June 21's broadcast of MBC's Music Core, and June 22's broadcast of SBS's Inkigayo with the pre-released digital Korean single "Hoo". On June 24, 2014, J-Min released the Music Video and digital Korean single titled "Hoo".[2]

"Hoo" is an acoustic ballad and a re-arrangement of "Hero", the soundtrack for the drama Miss Korea.

On July 15, 2014, J-Min released the Music Video for Shine featuring Titan and Hansol of SMRookies through her official Korean website (j-min.smtown.com) and SMTOWN's official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/smtown). S.M. Entertainment then released the mini-album digitally on July 18, and physically on July 21.
