Kelly Paul Oubre Jr. (born December 9, 1995) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the University of Kansas before being selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft.
Early years
Oubre was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Richmond, Texas after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.[1][2] Oubre attended George Bush High School in Fort Bend, Texas before transferring to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada for his senior season.[3]
In October 2013 Oubre committed to the University of Kansas to play college basketball.[4][5]
College career
During his freshman season with the Jayhawks, Oubre was named newcomer of the week twice by the Big 12 Conference. During the 2014–15 season, Oubre averaged 20.9 minutes, 9.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Professional career
On April 1, 2015, Oubre declared for the 2015 NBA draft.[6] On June 25, 2015, Oubre was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 15th overall pick. His draft rights were then traded to the Washington Wizards in exchange for the draft rights to the 19th pick, Jerian Grant, and two second round draft picks.[7] On July 9, 2015, he signed his rookie scale contract with the Wizards and joined the team for the Las Vegas Summer League.[8]
