It is now a matter of public record that the philosophy department tendered a sincere apology to Dr. Haunani-Kay Trask following her death. If Larry Laudan is aggrieved by this apology, he should take it up with the philosophy department. It is highly inappropriate for him (or anyone else) to re-litigate this issue on Wikipedia. undo Tag: Manual revert

If he is white or "Caucasian" (as he prefers), then he certainly is haole... If Mr. Carter does not like being called haole, he can return to Louisiana. Hawaiians would certainly benefit from one less haole in our land. In fact, United Airlines has dozens of flights to the U.S. continent every day, Mr. Carter. Why don't you take one?" undo Tag: Reverted

This is relevant because this entry is not simply about Laudan’s philosophical work, but his life more generally. This section sets out factual statements which are corroborated by secondary materials: there is nothing “slanderous” about this discussion. It is not clear why the commentator, who keeps deleting this section, appears to advocate so strenuously for Laudan. undo Tag: Manual revert
