"Let Me Love You" is a song recorded by French electronic music producer DJ Snake, taken as the third single from his debut studio album, Encore (2016). It features vocals from Canadian singer Justin Bieber.[3] The artists co-wrote the song with Andrew Watt, Ali Tamposi, Brian Lee, and Louis Bell, while the song's production was handled by DJ Snake. The song was released on 5 August 2016, through Interscope Records. Its music video was released on 29 November 2016 in YouTube.

Composition

"Let Me Love You" is written in the key of C minor with a tempo of 100 beats per minute in common time. The song follows a chord progression of Cm7 – E – E/G – A – E/G – A, and Bieber's vocals span from C4 to B5.[4]

The music video for the song was released on 29 November 2016.

Commercial performance

In the United States, "Let Me Love You" debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 on the issue dated 27 August 2016. The single opened at number-one on Digital Songs with 113,000 downloads, becoming DJ Snake's first and Bieber's sixth number-one on the chart.[5] On the issue dated 1 October 2016, "Let Me Love You" advanced six places to reach number six, becoming DJ Snake's third top 10 and Bieber's twelfth top 10 single. It reached number four the following week.[6]

In the United Kingdom, "Let Me Love You" debuted at number two, behind Major Lazer's "Cold Water" (another song featuring Bieber), on the UK Singles Chart, with 40,000 digital downloads.[7] It remained at number two, for five more weeks, blocked from the chart summit by the aforementioned "Cold Water" for two weeks and then by The Chainsmokers' "Closer" for four weeks. In its seventh week, it dropped to number three and then dropped to number five in its eighth week. It left the top-five in its ninth week and later left the top-ten in its twelfth charting week. It has since been certified platinum in the UK, for having sold (including streaming figures) in excess of 600,000 copies.
