7 August Teri Yaad Drama Daud Chand Asha Posley, Nasir Khan, Najma, Kiran, Rani, Ghulam Mohammad, Sardar Mohammad, Ghulam Qadir, Nazar & Jahangir Teri Yaad became the first ever released film in Pakistan. The film was released on August 7, 1948 and this film started Pakistan on its own path to building up its new film industry after independence in 1947.

28 July Pheray Musical Nazir Sawarn Lata, Nazir Ahmed Khan, M. Ismael, Nazar, Zeenat, Maya Devi, Alam Siaposh Pheray was the first ever Punjabi film produced in Pakistan and it celebrated its Silver Jubilee. The film was released on August 3, 1949.
Sachai Romance film Sawarn Lata, Nazir Ahmed Khan, Majeed
19 March Shahida Drama Luqman Shamim, Nasir Khan, Shakir, Hamaliya Wala Shahida was actually the first "Pakistani film" which was started before partition and released on March 19, 1949.
