St. Sofia churches

Greek "Hagia Sophia", Italian "Santa Sophia" is often rendered "Saint Sophia" in English even though the reference is to "Holy Wisdom", not to a saint. This raises the possibility of confusion with churches dedicated to a saint of this name.
