"Mailman, Bring Me No More Blues" is a song written by Ruth Roberts, Bill Katz, and Stanley Clayton, and was originally recorded by Buddy Holly in 1957. The song was part of the Beatles' live repertoire until 1962, and a loose version was recorded during the Get Back sessions of January 1969. This recording was released 27 years later on Anthology 3.[1]
The Beatles version
During the Get Back sessions, the Beatles recorded many cover versions to songs, including this one. The song itself is slower than the version recorded by Holly, emphasizing the sad, blues lyrics in comparison to the upbeat original.[1]
