The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain was created in December 2011 by Royal Decree.[2]

As of 2011, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport is José Ignacio Wert.

It is made up of the previous ministries of Education, Culture and incorporates the Higher Council for Sport, which had previously reported to the Ministry of the Presidency.
