Nogometni Klub Kras Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica is a semiprofessional Italian association football club located in Repen, a village in the comune of Monrupino, Friuli Venezia Giulia. The fanbase of the club is the Slovene community that populate the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

The owner and main sponsor of the club is the Koimpex company. The president of the club is Goran Kocman and the sporting director is Goran Kocman–whose father, Vojmir Kocman, runs Koimpex.

History

Kras was founded in 1986, on the basis of the Olimpija club, from Gabrovizza, which played in the Terza Categoria of Italian football. Olimpija then became the Circolo Sportivo Kras in Sgonico, and in 1986 it officially became Football Club Kras.[2] In two seasons, starting in 2004–05, they progressed from the Seconda Categoria on to the Promozione level, where in the 2006–07 season they finished in fourth place.

In 2007–08 the club was coached by former Soviet Union and Belarus international player Sergei Aleinikov. The contact was made due to Koimpex's work with companies in Belarus.[3][4]

Serie D

The club successively won promotion to Eccellenza in 2008–09.

At the end of 2009-10 Eccellenza season the club was promoted to Serie D for the first time.

The subsequent season was relegated to Eccellenza Friuli – Venezia Giulia, but in the next season was immediately promoted to Serie D for the second time.
