Nanchang International School (NCIS; simplified Chinese: 南昌国际学校; traditional Chinese: 南昌國際學校; pinyin: Nánchāng Guójì Xuéxiào) is an international primary school in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, People's Republic of China.
Nanchang International School was founded in August 2009 and is the first English-speaking international school located in Jiangxi Province approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education as an international school.
NCIS was established by the Nanchang Municipal Education Bureau in collaboration with China-Singapore SIP International Education Services Co. Ltd. (CSIES), to specially cater for the children of expatriate and SAR families living and working in the area.
Founded in August 2009, it opened its doors on 1 September 2010 to provide, initially, education for children aged from 3 to 13. As the number of expatriate families continues to grow, the school intends to become offer classes from K - 12 on its own purpose-built campus.
Curriculum
The school follows an inquiry-based curriculum and is authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).[1] The school is exploring accreditation with the Council of International Schools (CIS).
Facilities
The school has a library, science room, sports hall, sports field, basketball courts, food technology room, ICT room, multi-purpose drama/music room, a gym, staff room, conference room, dining room and Mandarin room.
