Nation Hits (formerly Nation 80s) is an Independent Local Radio station based in Neath. The station's broadcasting licence describes its format as a speech and music station for the Swansea area, primarily aimed at the 35-plus age group.[1]
History
The station originally launched as Swansea Bay Radio on 5 November 2006 with a soft Adult Contemporary and easy listening music format, before switching to playing only 1980s music in March 2012. The station was rebranded as Nation 80s on 1 June 2012. The station has since rebranded again and is now known as Nation Hits, as of 16 January 2013.
The station, which broadcasts from the Kilvey Hill transmitter in Swansea, and across South Wales on DAB radio (MXR), also carries hourly local news bulletins, regular weather forecasts and travel bulletins.
Management
The station is owned in its entirety by Town & Country Broadcasting Ltd which also operates six other radio stations in Wales - Nation Radio, 97.1 Radio Carmarthenshire, 97.5 Scarlet FM, 102.5 Radio Pembrokeshire, 106.3 Bridge FM and Radio Ceredigion.
