Original Masters is a greatest hits album by Jethro Tull released under Chrysalis Records in 1985. It was the band's third such effort, the first two being M.U. - The Best of Jethro Tull and Repeat - The Best of Jethro Tull - Vol II. Although the compilation was released in 1985, it does not include material released after 1977. Note that the first two compilations had already covered material released exclusively up to 1977 and Original Masters rehashes much of their material.

Notes

  • The CD's back insert mislabels the song "Witch's Promise" as "Witches Promise."
  • Due to the somewhat limited technology available for digital remastering at the time of this compilation's release, it suffers from generally poor audio quality, most notably on the songs "Aqualung" and "Life's a Long Song." The CD's back insert contains the following disclaimer: "The music on this Compact Disc was originally recorded on analog equipment. We have attempted to preserve, as closely as possible, the sound of the original recording. Because of its high resolution, however, the Compact Disc can reveal limitations of the source tape."
