Pattada (Sardinian: Patàda, Pathàda) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Sassari in the Italian region of Sardinia, located about 150 kilometres (93 mi) north of Cagliari and about 50 kilometres (31 mi) southeast of Sassari. As of 31 December 2010, it had a population of 3,283 and an area of 164.9 square kilometres (63.7 sq mi).[3]

Pattada is known for the production of Sardinian knives, called resolzas. There are numerous knife shops where local artisans produce these blades by hand. The resolza is a folding blade pocket knife. Other knives include fixed blade types used by shepherds. Most knives built in Pattada have handles made of ram horn.

Most recently, some local luthiers gained a good reputation for their products, mostly violins.

Many Pattadese are engaged in the production of Pecorino Sardo cheese and the surrounding countryside is largely pasture. Sheep are raised for milk, and the milk is made into cheese at the local co-operative. Much of this cheese is sold in the United States as Pecorino Romano[citation needed]. Other agricultural products include olives, cork, lamb and pork.

The municipality of Pattada contains the frazione (subdivision) Bantìne.

Pattada borders the following municipalities: Benetutti, Buddusò (included in the Province of Olbia-Tèmpio), Bultei, Nughedu San Nicolò, Nule, Oschiri (included in the Province of Olbia-Tèmpio), Osidda (included in the Province of Nùoro), Ozieri.
