Payal Fort is a fort built by Maharaja Amar Singh of Patiala in Payal with the co-operation of the Mughals in 1771.[1]At present, a public girls high school is being run from the fort.[2]

This historical fort has been handed over to the Archaeological Survey of India after removing illegal encroachments.[3]

The interior of the fort is deteriorating.[4]
