Pipariya is a town and a municipality in Hoshangabad district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is famous as it is the railhead for the military station and tourist destination of Pachmarhi. Pipariya is on the Itarsi-Jabalpur rail line and is under the Jabalpur railway division.

The Pipariya city is divided into 21 wards for which elections are held every 5 years. The Pipariya Municipality has population of 48,826 of which 25,294 are males while 23,532 are females as per report released by Census India 2011.
Population of children with age of 0–6 is 5666 which is 11.60% of total population of Pipariya (M). In Pipariya Municipality, Female Sex Ratio is of 930 against state average of 931. Moreover, Child Sex Ratio in Pipariya is around 900 compared to Madhya Pradesh state average of 918. Literacy rate of Pipariya city is 86.16% higher than state average of 69.32%. In Pipariya, Male literacy is around 91.61% while female literacy rate is 80.34%.
Pipariya Municipality has total administration over 10,225 houses to which it supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage. It is also authorized to build roads within Municipality limits and impose taxes on properties coming under its jurisdiction.
Schedule Caste (SC) constitutes 15.95% while Schedule Tribe (ST) were 3.27% of total population in Pipariya (M).
Out of total population, 15,707 were engaged in work or business activity. Of this 12,809 were males while 2,898 were females. Of total 15707 working population, 88.65% were engaged in Main Work while 11.35% of total workers were engaged in Marginal Work.
