Portal talk:San Francisco Bay Area/Selected article/Archive

Page contents not supported in other languages.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is used to quickly see all the selected articles, so no duplicates are added. Some early selected articles are not in this list. To add an article, it should be at least B class, and of Mid Importance or higher to the SFBA task force. All GA and FA articles of mid to top importance should be in this list.

Click on the first redlink below (current example is "16"), and create the page with the following text:

[[File:FILE NAME|left|200px]] '''[[ARTICLE NAME|NAME AT TOP OF ARTICLE (IF DIFFERENT FROM ARTICLE NAME)]]''' [[ARTICLE NAME|'''(more...)''']] [[Category:San Francisco Bay Area portal selected article pages]]

Fill in with your chosen article's current version's first 1 or 2 paragraphs between the two "article name" sections above (with the article name replacing ARTICLE NAME), stripping out all references. adjust the image size as appropriate. Then, increase the parameter by +1 at Portal:San Francisco Bay Area, at the wikimarkup code:

{{Random portal component|max=15|header=Selected article|footer=<small><small>| subpage=Selected article}}

This means the above sample would go from 15 to 16. if you make the parameter too large, you get a blank space where an article/image should be.

Then, copy the newly created subpages contents, minus the category, to this pages section for it. This duplicates the content, so any further editing must be done twice, but it also makes it easy to edit this page in general.

Criteria

[edit]

Reasonable criteria would be "C" class or higher, which are at least of Mid importance to the Bay Area.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 08:52, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would now suggest GA class, maybe B class, and of course mid importance.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 20:48, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
