Sakshi (Telugu: sakshi) is a Telugu media group. The group has a news daily and a Telugu News channel. It is headquartered in Hyderabad, India.

Sakshi Newspaper[edit]

Sakshi Newspaper was brought out in 23 multi-colored editions (one edition per district) by Jagati Publication, of which Y. S. Bharathi Reddy (Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy's wife) is the chairperson. The newspaper as well as the news channel are run by K. RAMACHANDRAMURTHY Editorial director,.Jagati Publications and Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy's political mentor.


Sakshi was launched on March 24, 2008, the first regional newspaper designed by the world-renowned newspaper designer, Mario Garcia. According to Price Water House Audit, the newspaper had an initial print run of 1,286,670. Sakshi news paper started with an introductory price of Rs 2/- per week day which led Sakshi to become one of the top ten of regional newspapers in India.[1] The Mudra Institute of Communications from Ahmedabad visited Sakshi to study this success.Ranking of sakshi as audit bureau circulation for period Jan2015 - June 2015 has fallen to 1150279

According to the Audit Bureau of Circulation, circulation figures released in December, 2015, Sakshi is the second largest circulating newspaper in Andhra Pradesh after Eenadu with a circulation figure of more than 1.15 million.

Sakshi began with 23 editions published simultaneously from 19 cities in Andhra Pradesh along with the four metropolitan areas of Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore. This record was acknowledged by the Limca Book of Records. Sakshi was the second newspaper in India to publish all of its pages in colour. Sakshi is now available online every day with all of its editions along with the regional editions.

Sakshi launched a TV news channel Sakshi TV and the programs have started air fiting on March 1, 2009. This media group is working under the name "Indira Television".
