Sathish Krishnan is an Indian film actor and choreographer, who has worked in Tamil films.[1]
Career
As dancer
Sathish Krishnan trained and grew as a lead dancer & has been an instructor of Flyerz dance company for more than a decade now, before gradually stepping up to feature as a dancer in television shows such as Dance Machi Dance and Aattam Paatam in Kalaignar TV. He was subsequently selected as a contestant paired with Jeyshree in the debut season of the show Maanada Mayilada, winning the title of Best Dancer. He then went on to feature in Jodi Number One Season 4 along with Divyadarshini, finishing in second place. He was subsequently seen as the Dance choreographer in following seasons of Jodi No 1 and in Ungalil Yar Adutha Prabhu Deva.
Gautham Menon subsequently gave him an opportunity to make his debut as a film choreographer with his 2012 bilingual film, Neethane En Ponvasantham. Since then he has gone on to work in several big budget films including Vaalu, Madras and Inga Enna Solluthu.,[2] Nalanum Nandhiniyum, Sutta Kadhai & the most awaited movies like Yennai Arindhaal directed by Gautham Menon & Simbu - Nayantara starrer Idhu Namma Aalu.
Apart from movies Sathish has choreographed many TV Commercials including the famous 7UP Ad which has Simbu in Tamil & the Kannada star Puneet Rajkumar & Jiiva's DIXCY Scot Ad in Tamil, to name a few.
As an actor
Sathish was first seen portraying Vinay Rai's friend in Jeeva's Unnale Unnale (2007), notably featuring alongside Vinay and Raju Sundaram in the song "June Ponal". Gautham Menon chose to launch Sathish as a lead actor in 2008, announcing that he would play a lead role alongside three other newcomers and Trisha Krishnan in a project titled Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam. The film, which had music composed A. R. Rahman, was shot over irregular intervals across 2008 before finally being shelved and cancelled.[3][4] The director then offered Sathish a small role in Vaaranam Aayiram (2008) as Suriya's college friend. In 2009, Sathish announced that he was to star in the lead role in debutant director Srikanth's Mudivilla Punnagai, a musical by Thaman, but the film was shelved before production was completed.[5]
He was then seen in bit roles as a dance troupe member in Thalaivaa alongside Vijay and several other reality television dance show alumni, while he also featured in the video of the song "Elavu", which he had choreographed for Sasi's Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu (2013). Sathish signed on to play the lead role in debutant Sinish's fantasy love story, Endrendrum, in late 2012 and shot for the project in early 2013. The film, featuring him alongside Priyanka Reddy, will release in 2014. Furthermore he features in the supporting cast of Gautham Menon's next Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada, and has shot for scenes alongside Silambarasan and Manjima Mohan. He has been casted as one of the main lead Actors in Director Radha Mohan's upcoming movie "Uppu Karuvadu" which is slated to release very shortly by the end of 2015. Sathish has been signed to choreograph for Rajinikanth's latest project titled Kabali.
