Sherlyn Chopra (formerly known as Mona Chopra) is an Indian model, singer and actress in Bollywood.[1] She became the first Indian model to pose nude on the coverpage of Playboy magazine.[2]. In November 2012 she will appear on the coverpage of Playboy magazine.[3][4][5][6] She has been introduced as the 'Bollywood Goddess Sherlyn Chopra', by the magazine.[7]
Early life
Chopra was born in Hyderabad, India in 1984 to a Christian father George Amitabh Chopra and Muslim mother Susan Aamir.[citation needed] She has a brother, Amitabh Chopra, a computer engineer working in Auckland, New Zealand and a sister, Sharon Aamir, who works as a disc jockey.[citation needed] She attended Stanley Girls High School and Saint Ann’s College for Women, Mehdipatnam. It was during college that she won the Miss Andhra contest.[8] She was a school topper, but after gradually losing interest in her studies, she turned her attention to films.
Career in cinema
Chopra's early acting career was mainly in Bollywood films. She appeared in movies such as Time Pass, Red Swastik and Game. She also appeared in the Telugu film A film by Aravind.[9] Chopra was the second guest on Bigg Boss (Season 3).[10] She was evicted from the show on Day 27. She was also a co-presenter at 55th Filmfare Awards.[11]
Nude modelling
On 12 January 2012, after her birthday she published her first nude picture on twitter, which was later deleted by twitter.
In November 2012, it is stated she will appear in Playboy, making her the first Indian woman to be on the cover of the men's magazine.[12][5]
