Founded in 1985 by Hermann Simon, Eckhard Kucher and Karl-Heinz Sebastian, Simon-Kucher & Partners provides strategy, marketing and pricing advice to clients across sectors and geographies. They are described by The Economist as the world's leading pricing consultancy[4] and by Bloomberg Businessweek as a world leader in giving advice to companies on how to price their products.[5]

History

The consulting firm Simon-Kucher & Partners was founded in Germany in 1985 by Hermann Simon and his doctoral students Eckhard Kucher and Karl-Heinz Sebastian. In 1996, they opened the first foreign office in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[6] From 1995 to 2006, Hermann Simon was the chairman of the board of Simon, Kucher & Co. Holding GmbH, that was headquartered in Bonn. Since 2009, the German parent company has been led by Klaus Hilleke and Georg Tacke. Both have been working for the company since 1988.[7] The American parent company Simon, Kucher & Partners Strategy & Marketing Consultants, LLC, which is headquartered in Cambridge (Massachusetts) and was founded by Klaus Hilleke,[6] is now led by Juan Rivera. The Asian parent company Simon-Kucher & Partners LLP, which is headquartered in Singapore is led by Dr. Jochen Krauss.

Other subsidiaries exist in several European countries as well as Latin America, Australia, Japan and the People's Republic of China. In North America, Simon-Kucher is represented by the American parent company, Simon-Kucher & Partners Strategy & Marketing Consultants, LLC.

Global revenue of the group in 2008 was 98.7 million euros.[8] In 2009, the group generated 88.7 million euros global revenue and was satisfied, "with the 'crisis year' of 2009, despite a decline [10 percent] in revenues'".[9] In 2012, Simon-Kucher generated total revenues of 145 million euros.[10] In 2013, Simon-Kucher generated total revenues of 152 million euros. Focus

The group focuses its consulting work on the areas of strategy, marketing and sales. From 2007 to 2009, Simon, Kucher & Partners carried out more than 2,000 projects, over 1000 of which in the area of pricing. The latter is considered the company's core competence and an area where it is a world leader.[12]
