Spirit Riding Free is a computer-animated series based on the 2002 Oscar-nominated traditionally-animated film, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. The series is produced by DreamWorks Animation Television and distributed by Netflix.[5] Six episodes of the first season premiered on May 5, 2017.[3] The series was renewed for a second season and it premiered on September 8, 2017.[6] The series was renewed for a third season and it will premiere on November 17, 2017.[7]
Plot
In the small town of Miradero, Texas, a 12-year-old[2] girl named Lucky, who had recently relocated from the city, encounters a wild mustang named Spirit. Offspring of Spirit from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, the horse is caught by wranglers and brought to be "broken" in Miradero. Lucky gradually bonds with the stallion, and frees him. Lucky also meets two other girls, Prudence and Abigail, who both own horses, Chica Linda, a palomino, and Boomerang, a paint horse, respectively. They embark on everyday adventures across the land.
