Is he dead?[edit]

Reports suggest he may have died. [1] -Ad Orientem (talk) 21:51, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ad Orientem: That article says Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud not Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Faisal Al Saud, even though some people would still write the article of this subject with the former. In the Saudi royal family names are often repeated, but I suspect the deceased is a son King Khalid. It doesn't look like any of the other sources offer any more details, but based on the information we have I would say it is two different people. --Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 22:06, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. -Ad Orientem (talk) 22:08, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ad Orientem: Looks like people have been adding unsourced allegations about this alleged death, including claims about it locations and that it was a suicide. Perhaps page protection is best for now? --Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 16:44, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have created an edit notice. Hopefully that will slow things down a bit. -Ad Orientem (talk) 17:01, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Saudi Prince Suicide Story is Fake News: So the story of the suicide is a different guy, but still very dramatic events. Resulting in the news story and confusion around it. Here is an article that contains video of the moment a man jumps off the balcony at an airport, supposedly killing himself. Here is the article (top on Google search, still) where the video, and the death of the Saudi Prince are tied together: "Saudi Prince Commits Suicide at London Airport"[1]. Identified as "Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud", not the subject of this article. And, as dramatic as this event is, the above story is mostly wrong about everything. The jump did not take place in the London Airport, apparently, but in Atlanta. It seems it is not a Saudi prince, but someone else. And the jumper didn't die, but was injured. At least that is what RT is reporting via their Medium account. "False Saudi prince ‘suicide’ video debunked by keywords" [2] ZeroXero (talk) 20:56, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
