It's most likely that the Črni Kal Viaduct is named for the village of Črni Kal rather than the depression it crosses. The name of the village means "black watering hole" and it is named for a hydronym; cf. Vida Rožac-Darovec (2005) "imenovanja ... po vodi (Črni Kal)" and Marko Snoj (2009, Etimološki slovar slovenskih zemljepisnih imen. Ljubljana: Modrijan and Založba ZRC, p. 101) "Čŕni Kál (prvotno ime kala, tj. mlaka za napajanje živine)." Doremo (talk) 16:37, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
