Winner column

[edit]

Sometimes it seems like you can't change a thing around here anymore without getting reverted...

To be blunt, it doesn't matter if other pages don't have a Winner column. It is inappropriate to use colour as the only way to present win/loss information. There are colour-blind people and black-and-white printouts to consider. If no other sports page has a Winner column, then maybe they should be fixed too!

If there is a better way to present this information, or a real reason for omitting it, that's fine, but let's not keep all the sports team articles at the lowest common denominator for no other reason than uniformity.

(I'm going to reinstate my change now, not because I want an edit war, but because I believe my change improved the article and was reverted without reason.) --Doradus (talk) 20:13, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Colour shouldn't be the only way to indicate the result of the game. But I'm not sure if a "Winner column" would be the best way to identify that. Usually in cases like these, we use a Result column. For example, look at the result column here on the 2009 Calgary Stampeders season page. It tells you whether the Stamps won, lost, or tied a game in that column. I'm not gonna change your edits on this page to wins and loses. Unless other people agree with me on this.
