Qualfication

[edit]

The significance of the qualification tournament is unclear. Qualification to where? I would assume it would be to Group B, but the winner (or any other participant) is'nt there. 85.217.34.67 (talk) 05:33, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's for the next year! Kante4 (talk) 12:11, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well then, it was played in 2012, so it should be for 2013?
But in reality it acts as Division II Group C, I see. Though in a way every group is a qualification. Only difference is that no team can be relegated since it's the lowest group. 85.217.22.25 (talk) 02:25, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is a change for this year that will be in effect for all IIHF tournaments by next year, no more nations playing twice in one year.18abruce (talk) 02:45, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Now, after thinking a little more, I realized the season in ice hockey is from autumn 2012 to spring 2013 (it is not played in summer). So, it is same season's play, and they are qualified to the next season, as always. 85.217.34.67 (talk) 01:47, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
