Matches format

[edit]

I have used the footballbox collapsible template for matches this season as I feel it reveals more information on each game such as round, stadium, location, referee and opposition goals/cards. It is also an easier format for new editors if they became apart of this volunteering editing site. --Skyblueshaun (talk) 16:13, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer using the tables to record results, info such as round, stadium, location, referee and opposition goals/cards can be viewed in a link to the Match report on the BBC website. The table I use is a variation based on tables used in Manchester United and Birmingham City articles. Thanks--Add92 (talk) 16:26, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I added extra details to this page, ones which I have now been undone. In my opinion they add important and interesing additional statistics, ones which are including on many other Premier League teams' seasonal pages. They don't need much work to update, and will bring the page forward. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.225.80.114 (talk) 09:08, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have now overhauled to whole page to the collapsible format, as this is is inline with other season articles, improves accessibility, and easier to update. The table is clunky and having to work out exactly which || to put the text between is unnecessarily time consuming and complex, especially for the casual editor who is not 100% au fait with the layout and mechanics of Wikipedia. Collapsble boxes are the norm, lets get with the times, and change to be more inclusive. Sport and politics (talk) 13:08, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
