Replace upper map with marked geographic lower one

[edit]

Until there is a picture depicting the coup in the infobox, I feel that the upper plain map of Gabon is redundant for detail, and the lower marked coordinates map should replace it alone. I can't find out how to do that though while maintaining the template. Please help!--~Sıgehelmus♗(Tøk) 23:48, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removed upper map for now, although I would like the marked one placed where the former was.-~Sıgehelmus♗(Tøk) 00:16, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Riyadh

[edit]

Someone should add that Ali Bongo Ondimba had a mysterious stroke in Riyadh back in October and recorded his New Year's wishes from there. Cf. Laurent Larcher in La Croix, Après le coup d’État au Gabon, un retour à l’anormal [1] SashiRolls t · c 00:03, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@SashiRolls:  Done Hope that's what fits!--~Sıgehelmus♗(Tøk) 00:13, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I've updated since the text just says it was the first time he's been seen since. It doesn't say he recorded them in Riyadh... My mistake... Sorry about that. SashiRolls t · c 04:39, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Does it matter

[edit]

that US President Trump had deployed 80 US troops in Gabon on January 5, 2019? Two days before the attempted coup? I understand that someone else (a reliable source) needs to make the connection, but I found it interesting, you might too. Carptrash (talk) 16:02, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know the US hasn't released any official commentary responding to coup, and I haven't seen this mentioned in any of the articles about the coup, so - as you noted - we can't really do WP:SYNTHESIS and combine sources to make a statement that wasn't mentioned in any of the individual sources. It's certainly interesting that the US sent troops to Gabon, but for the time being that seems to be entirely unrelated. Brendon the Wizard ✉️ 14:26, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
