Pictures of Libertarian candidate John Hicks

[edit]

Hey all - It's a three-way race and to date no polls have even included John Hicks. Anyone think it's right to put his picture up until a poll is done with Hicks included, at which point the typical polling threshold kicks in? 216.196.254.34 (talk) 23:52, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"A major swing from 2016"

[edit]

Maybe instead of being disingenuous you mention that Trump literally had 1.2 million votes in 2016 and 2016 had 400,000+ more voters and that literally every other office voted Republican? 108.48.94.223 (talk) 03:46, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This article is not about the other offices, it is about the race for governor. Trump won with 62% in 2016, Beshear is gonna win with around 49%/50%, that is a major swing. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 03:49, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it warrants to be mentioned in the intro paragraph. I don't recall many intros comparing a candidate's performance to Donald Trump's. Gubernatorial races are different things entirely. --yeah_93 (talk) 09:24, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Race has not been called by AP

[edit]

Stop pretending that the Democrat party candidate has won this race. He has not and Bevin not conceded. No need to write an article that is already calling the election. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/kentucky-election-results 62.226.86.167 (talk) 06:29, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This race has not been called by AP nor has Bevin conceded. Also why do you compare local elections with nationwide contents like the outcome of the US election 2016? Dems hold the KY GOV until 2015 while being deeply unpopular in presidential elections. Not a good comparision.

Top Box vs. Results section

[edit]

The results differ between the Top Box and the Results section due to different sources (Popular vote 709,673 / 704,523 Percentage 49.2% / 48.8% vs. 711,955 49.2 and 707,297 48.9). Which is the correct one?--Einar Moses Wohltun (talk) 13:58, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Needs protection

[edit]

Someone needs to protect this page, too much vandalism- Yeungkahchun (talk) 62.226.95.155 02:09, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

+1 to at least semi-protect this article at least for a few days as the obvious tensions around this election cool down. 38.32.56.66 (talk) 16:51, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think it can be unprotected now. It among other things seriously misreports the CNN article about the coming recanvassing process. That needs correction. 67.164.113.165 (talk) 22:42, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Needs Updated Predictions

[edit]

I think the predictions are too old and should be updated. And I Saw That Someone Removing The Newest(Released 11/5) and Most Accurate(Predicted Democratic Victory) One of Globe Elections United Network, This Sould Be Restored.

hey, just to respond: I was the one who removed that. I just want to point out that GEUN does not seem to exist and has only 31 hits on Google/ a single, small YouTube channel. In addition, your IP address seems to be the only editor ever mentioning GEUN. This suggests you have a close connection with the material, which is bad, and are using Wikipedia to pump up your own organization's notability unjustifiably, which is worse. If GEUN deserves to be here, more than one editor will reference it, and it'll get a page of its own like every major election prediction org- Sabato, 538, Fox, etc.

Turnout

[edit]

973,692 total statewide votes in 2015 versus 1,442,390 in 2019 -- an increase of 468,698 -- computes out to a 48% increase in total statewide votes from 2015 to 2019.Artaxerxes (talk) 15:51, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
