source?

[edit]

Is there a source for this title? StuartDD contributions 21:17, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See Talk:Dead Man Walking (Torchwood) for discussion of this anomaly. -- Noneofyourbusiness (talk) 01:37, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Day in the life

[edit]

"The title is a play on The Beatles song A Day in the Life."

Um...I'm pretty sure "A Day in the Life" is a phrase that pre dates the Beatles song. Just a hunch (well, more than a hunch).Andral (talk) 04:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Goof?

[edit]

I'm just curious... How can Owen speak yet he can't blow the air required for CPR? ::BradfordMitchell (talk) 09:41, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is a goof, he is also heard breathing very heavily at the time he says he can't breathe, I added this to the errors section earlierNIKKKIN (talk) 21:42, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is relevant to include this in the section describing the attempt at CPR. Obviously, the fact that he can use his muscles to move would imply that he could use those muscles to make respiratory motions as well. AlbertHall (talk) 14:22, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's a plot device, and yes, it could be regarded as a goof. But we don't list goofs, as they ammount to original research. We usually blame it on artistic licence. EdokterTalk 14:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Where do you put discussions or analyses of episodes besides here? For example, plot inconsistencies. Everything isn't artistic license...I guess we could cite other websites that bring up these things. AlbertHall (talk) 19:24, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

That image isn't of a more critical element, the Pulse was a MacGuffin. Owen's attempted suicide illustrates his psychological issues in this episode better. --GracieLizzie (talk) 23:56, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree... Owen fully expected the Pulse to explode, or to absorb it's energy. It shows more elements relating to the entire episode (Owen, Parker, Pulse) then just an underwater face. EdokterTalk 20:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The pulse was only a very minor part of the episode. It was more to do with Owen wishing to die, psycological issues, and the pulse doesn't show that enough. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CharismaInjection (talkcontribs) 21:57, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dou you have a previous account? If so, please tell us which one. I have no problem asuming good faith, but I am a little concerned as to why a brand new account suddenly steps in. EdokterTalk 12:03, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary

[edit]

I've trimmed this down quite heavily - hopefully it's not quite such a line-by-line description now. Can we lose the "It's too long" label yet? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.157.199.120 (talk) 21:31, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Source for Maggie's last name?

[edit]

I know she says it, but I had real difficulty hearing "Hopley" through the accent. The reason I looked this up was because it seriously sounded like she was saying "Harper", which is of course Owen's last name. IMDB doesn't give her a last name at all, so I was wondering how we were sure it was "Hopley". Personally, I think if it was "Hopley" then it was a real a slip the writers giving her a name that's so similar in sound to "Harper". They could've given her any name in the world, but chose to use one that can easily be misheard as "Harper", making it seem like there's a connection where there really isn't. If it was actually "Harper" as I first heard it (and a few people watching with me seemed to agree), then it might be something cool that comes up again (though I doubt it), but if it just sounds like "Harper", then it was a waste of a line. She'd have been better off with no last name given at all than one that sounds like his... Lurlock (talk) 04:26, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, the closed captioning on the episode I watched definitely said "Hopley". David Shaw (talk) 17:20, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Why is the phrase "they watch the light show from "the Pulse"." at the end of the Plot section linked to Existentialism? If anything, it should be linked to the Voyager Golden Record, although that might be best earlier. I don't see any direct or indirect mentions of existentialism in the phrase listed, so I don't think it should be linked to it. 98.201.123.4 (talk) 03:32, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out. It's been removed. DonQuixote (talk) 15:25, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
