Of the three references I posted above, the third is from an official government source in Egypt. It's not a free country, but it's obviously an official and professional website and the subject of this article doesn't seem like one whose biography is still politically charged in today's Egypt. I'm going to go ahead and use it as a source with the disclaimer that I won't object if anyone, at a later time, sees this and disagrees. I'll ask about the other two at the RS noticeboard.
