Hebrew pronunciation is Avner, not Abner. Since I don't expect any disagreemant, I will change it.Kepipesiom (talk) 01:54, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Tomb of Abner: The artical says, "His tomb, according to a medieval Jewish tradition, is considered to be in a building not far from the Cave of the Patriarchs" and someone requested "citation needed." I don't understand; at the very beginning is a photograph of this tomb, in this building. Is that not citation enough?Kepipesiom (talk) 02:08, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on Abner[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected links on Abner which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. The name Avner is spelt "אֲבִינֵר" in the first line of the article. Is this right? There seems to be an unpronounced yod in there. The spelling in the picture of Abner's tomb doesn't have a yod. If this is a mistake, perhaps somebody who knows can correct it. Kelisi (talk) 17:45, 20 May 2017 (UTC)

You are right, and the first line is wrong: Most places in the bible spell it without a yod, אַבְנֵר, one place adds a yod. The spelling *without* the yod is the more known and should probably be considered more correct. Nyh (talk) 12:23, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
