I noticed a comment on http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Br%27er_Rabbit&direction=prev&oldid=98053769#History that indicated a lack of information in Wikipedia about African American folklore. Origin

I'm a bit confused by the origin section. The way it's written, it comes across kind of like the folktales are based on a story written by a single person. (IE, kind of like a folktale developing from Andersen's The Little Mermaid.) If this is the earliest known written version of the story then the case here is that the writer is recording a specific version of a folk tale as opposed to creating the story themselves. OK, figured it out. Basically, they were basing their information on a story collection put out by Greenwood. At the end of the story there was a small bit of information about that specific version of the story. For example, the Jackal story was based on a version recorded by Joseph Cotter in a collection of folk tales. He didn't create the folk tale, in other words. The same goes for the other person mentioned. It's a Brothers Grimm type of situation. This may have been their intent with how they wrote out the sections, but it came across like these two were the authors of their respective pieces. I've removed it for the time being.
