Recent edits were poorly conceived[edit]

The topic of this article was originally not the instrument but the music tradition of fiddle music in Africa and based upon Africa. The topic of this article was completely changed by recent edits, with not discussion. Gee. Plese the next time you conduct massive revision at least paste up the deleted content onto Discussion or a userpage so it can be readily recovered. The ethnomusicology of African fiddle took hours to compile and it seems to be highly truncated based on the theory that (1) the article is primarily about a physical object, ie., fiddle instruement and (2) that there is something wrong with extensive coverage of the leader in the field of study which the article is about. IMO, it would be better to add new content from other musicologists than to merely remove existing content. But that is a losing battle since at WP, deletionism seems to be the line of least resistance so often travelled by those who find it easy and quick to remove content and who shirk the hard work of actually developing content. So it goes. GeoBardRap 20:28, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not controversial[edit]

Where is the controversy? Bad editing of a Wikipedia article does not make the article's subject controversial/ Mdw0 (talk) 07:08, 6 August 2012 (UTC) [reply]
