Mentioning of name Aja in Rig Veda and similarities on valmiki ramayan account[edit]

In second phase of Battle of Ten Kings (in RV 1.018.19) after river Ravi the battleground (probably) shifted to the banks of river Yamuna, wherein the local chieftain Bhida was defeated along with three other tribes — Ajas, Śighras, and the Yakṣus by Sudas.[1] And Lord Rama's grandfather's name is also Aja . As Ajas were defeated near Yamuna river by king Sudas. This reference of location of this tribe is corresponds to the location of Kingdom (Mathura) of King Shatrughan, brother Lord Rama mentioned in valmiki ramayan. And in latter epic Mahabharata Kamsa the King of Mathura is not mentioned as Suryavanshi ruler but as Chandravanshi ruler. Therefore from above points conclusion derives the following chronology

  • King Shatrughan, brother of Lord Rama killed Lavanasura and captured Mathura on the Yamuna river. (As Shatrughan's grandfather's name is Aja so Rig Veda mentions tribe name Aja near Yamuna.
  • After the period of Ramayana Mathura branch of Suryavanshi (Ajas) were defeated by King Sudas and it was replaced by Chandravanshi.
  • And from there it came into hands of Chandravanshi King Kamsa

It is simply a assumption of my mind by this references but please tell the opinion on this. Srimant ROSHAN (talk) 14:29, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
