Move to "The Meccan Revelations"

[edit]

The article should be moved to The Meccan Revelations. The French title is inappropriate, since the work is not originally in French, but in Arabic. Wegesrand (talk) 13:34, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's a very important point that you have raised. However, I only partially support your position. It's a matter of shame and sorrow that the title of this monumental Arabic text could be named in French because it was translated into it.The same is applicable for English as well. This is a very bad practice that we have developed. I know This is English Wikipedia. But not everything should be treated the same way. The translated name can have its place in the main body of the article, or can be used as a redirect. The page should therefore be moved to 'Kitâb Al-Futūḥāt al-Makkiyya', the original name of the book. Mosesheron (talk) 00:21, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
