Avoid Blogs as References

[edit]

Please avoid blogs as references as they have been discouraged under Wikipedia ruling for a reason. In this case, TheOnlineCitizen and Temasek Review are both blogs. If the content is good, they would be covered by other sources that are more readily acceptable under Wikipedia rules. Taking the Temasek Review link for example which claimed that the Reporters Without Borders petition asked for intercession under the grounds that the subject was under financial difficulties, that point does not appear on the actual petition itself (I've changed the link to direct to the actual petition) and appears to have been added by the writers behind the Temasek Review article without any sourcing. Compare the Temasek Review article and the actual Reporters Without Borders petition . DanS76 (talk) 00:03, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
