Elevation[edit]

Dzungarian Gate[edit]

Dzungarian Gate and its aliases currently redirect here. According to Google Scholar, there are 299 hits for Dzungarian Gate and 154 hits fpr Alataw Pass. According to Google Books there are 1810 hits for Dzungarian Gate and 99 hits for Alataw Pass. But rather than rename this article Dzungarian Gate I think it makes sense to focus this article on the Chinese rail station and upgrade the redirect Dzungarian Gate to an article on the geographic feature. I intend to make the appropriate changes to the Dzungarian Gate redirect shortly.μηδείς (talk) 22:54, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move article and make Alataw Pass a disambiguation page[edit]

While Alataw Pass literally appears to be the Chinese name of the valley which is the Dzungarian Gate, the town bearing that name is known in Chinese as Alashankou. Since the term Alataw Pass is ambiguous, I intend to move the content of this article within a day or two to the name Alashankou and to make Alataw Pass a disambiguation page referring to the two (Dzungaraina Gate and Alashankou) and the train station as well.μηδείς (talk) 02:31, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the content of the article to the prior redirect page Alashankou and made this a disambiguation page linking to Dzungarian Gate, Alashankou, and Alashankou railway station. μηδείς (talk) 18:47, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
