Proper citation
[edit]Although the French writers who penned the article on Wohlstetter and Strauss are mentioned, and a link given, the article is a bit close to their original writing to forgo the use of quotation marks. I am guessing that Wikipedia is a bit more rigourous on this issue and does not cotton to what amounts to cut and paste? --Social theorist 08:53, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
please edit intro sentence
[edit]The Wiki entry for Albert Wohlstetter starts "was a...major intellectual force behind the efforts to stop the spread of nuclear arms..."
and explains later in the article:
"Wohlstetter proposed on the contrary a 'graduated deterrence,' i.e. the acceptance of limited wars, possibly using tactical nuclear arms, together with 'smart' precision-guided weapons capable of hitting the enemy's military apparatus."
Readers would be well served by the incorporation of the info in the latter quote into the introductory sentence.
I'd do it, but I'm blocked from editing.

I don't know how to add footnotes, but the bit about Perle dating Wohlstetter's daughter comes from The Wizards of Armageddon by Fred Kaplan. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gerling (talk • contribs) 02:29, 23 December 2006 (UTC).
Dr. Strangelove connection
[edit]Would it be inappropriate, perhaps somewhere at the bottom, to mention that Wohlstetter was the inspiration for the Kubrick film Dr. Strangelove? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 211.216.74.133 (talk) 00:13, 4 May 2007 (UTC).

OK to add external link?
[edit]I have a conflict of interest, but would a filmed interview with Albert Wohlstetter from 1986 be useful here as an external link? Focus of conversation is nuclear weapons policy. Transcript is available. http://openvault.wgbh.org/catalog/V_2C5EF61C59EE44CB89CD86E62F2AD4C4 Mccallucc (talk) 21:37, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
