Education

She states here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHjvObVajWg that she has a associates degree in respitory care therapy from texas state university and she also says that she has 1.5 years left from her bachelor's degree. Anyone knows if she got the bachelor's degree?

Untitled

it states that she grew up in brownwood texas. this is not the case. i went to highschool with her. she's from the castroville/la coste region in texas. not really anywhere near brownwood. 217.194.139.3 (talk) 17:58, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Height and Weight

Alexis Texas' MySpace page states she is 5'7", not 5'8". What is the source for her weight being only 110 lbs? A weight of 110 lbs would be very thin for a 5'7" woman, and Alexis Texas is very curvy. I would guess she weighs at least 130-135.

This actress is known for her big butt. AVN is used to source this and given the AVN Award, and the notion that AVN is used to source scores of articles related to adult entertainment, I don't understand why its inclusion is not fit for this article. the_undertow talk 01:08, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Because the AVN "source", like so much of what's posted at avn.com, isn't independent coverage, but just a corporate PR with a few words changed here and there. The AVN "source" reads "Elegant Angel today announced performer Alexis Texas as the studio's latest 'Buttwoman.' She makes her big debut in Alexis Texas is Buttwoman, due out Sept. 16 on DVD and Blu-ray disc. Known for her awe-inspiring rump, Ms. Texas performed her first anal scene for the upcoming release. She succeeds such acclaimed performers as Tianna, Tiffany Mynx, Belladonna, and Brianna Love in the coveted Buttwoman role." Another online version based on the same PR kit reads "Adult Entertainment Studio, Elegant Angel, is delighted to announce that adult superstar, Alexis Texas, is the latest performer to fill the coveted role of Buttwoman, following in the footsteps of Tianna, Tiffany Mynx, Belladonna, and Brianna Love. Since her arrival into the business in 2007, the curvy Texan has been known for her colossal posterior . . ." [1] Both AVN and the "xmember" piece include this paragraph, as does another "news story" at xbiz [2]: "

"Being Buttwoman was very special to me because I aspire to be the best, and when I was told Elegant Angel wanted me to be the next Buttwoman, I was very excited," said Alexis. "After watching some of the past Buttwomen, I felt a little intimidated because the series is so unique and special. Who would know that the very thing I refused to be open minded about [anal] would feel so good? It's time for me to take over the big-booty torch. I really enjoyed the anal scene. I was relaxed and I'm looking forward to seeing how my enjoyment is portrayed on camera. Each scene brought a new feeling and reaction out of me. It was truly a fun time." There are lots of other similarities; it's quite clear that all three pieces (plus a few others easy to turn up with Google) are all base on the same source, promotional material provided by the studio promoting the video.

There's a dead giveaway at the bottom of the AVN "coverage," the closing line that reads "For more information and sales, contact graham@elegantangel.com or visit www.elegantangel.com." This is a presskit piece, assembled from promo material. AVN may have put a different shade of lipstick on this pig, but it's still not the sort of reliable, independent coverage that can be used in a BLP.
Besides, "best known for her large buttocks" isn't even supported by the source (emphasis on "best"); just because porn flackery says someone has an "awe-inspiring rump" doesn't make it her main claim to fame, deserving of mention in the lede to an encyclopedia article. Why is her real name not here?

It isn't hard to find it (or a claim of what it is) online: initials T.A.S. I think we usually include this for "celebrities". 81.159.93.150 (talk) 23:44, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Your comment of "claim of what it is" basically gets to the point of why it's not here. Per WP:BLP, we need a very reliable source for names of people who go out of their way not to use their real names. And we do not "out" people. So, if a court record says their real name, we don't use that as a source since it was not their decision to have their name released. If they say it in an interview, that is completely different and we can then cite that interview. Dismas|(talk) 23:58, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Is IMDb NOT a reliable source? It says her real name on there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.180.150.23 (talk) 03:33, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Non-notable awards

I realize the temptation to fill the awards section with anything, but without sources clearly demonstrating they deserve mention, non-notable awards should not be listed with only primary sources or announcements. --Ronz (talk) 16:08, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

At some point, we need to get larger consensus on how to address this. Edit-warring over these concerns has been going on for years with little discussion. See Talk:Brandi_Love#Awards. --Ronz (talk) 16:37, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Mention of non-notable awards in pornography articles

There is a discussion on how to address non-notable awards in pornography articles: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Pornography#Mention_of_non-notable_awards_in_articles. We'd appreciate help creating consensus on when and how such awards are mentioned in pornography biographies and related articles. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 16:11, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
