Beliefs about molecules

I've read the book back in 1994 when the alt.religion.scientology UUCP Newsgroup was discussing the amusing lunacy contained within and access to original versions was very limited and costly.

It would be informative to add a number of sections to this Wiki entry to cover Hubbard's notions about simple molecules and High School level chemistry which are on a par with his notions about what he believed radiation is. The book's notions are predicated in a profound lack of understanding of even basic science leave alone advanced arenas of atomic discoveries which Hubbard tried to profess knowledge of. Offering referenced sections covering some of the foundational profound lack of understanding would be beneficial.

Note, for example, this treasure: It seemed to me that if molecules had holes in them to a certain number, then memory, perchance, might be stored in these holes in the molecules... Hubbard thought that memory is retained at the molecular level, he had no conception of how the mind actually worked or what molecules actually are and yet contrived a great many amusing notions about what molecules are, what they did, how they behaved, much of which ends up being part of what motivated the lunacy in this book.

Another amusing quote from hubbard: These magnetic so-called skids were actually whole-molecule reorientation fields.... That is from his book "Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000" which is touted as fiction but which contains as much actual science as "All About Radition" which is sold as if it were science.

It would be informative to add new sections delving in to the beliefs predicated upon the lack of education about core sciences which drove the contents of this book. Stand-alone such as it is one is left with no real understanding of why someone would write a book containing obvious nonsense. Damotclese (talk) 20:11, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
