I have removed some information, due to its being discounted in Grove. This includes his name being Marc Antonio Cesti (it wasn't), and that he studied with Cavalli. That he was the most celebrated Italian musician of his time was stated baldly in Grove, and they don't just stay that stuff, so I thought it warranted inclusion, even though it could be seen to be POV.Makemi 22:33, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Carissimi

@Josephine1915: According to Grove (you probably have access), the claim Cesti studied with Carissimi appears to be "groundless". The blmo reference you cited also states he was born in Florence, but what is known is he was baptised in Arezzo. Robert.Allen (talk) 08:08, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

A large number of name variants have been added to the "Other names" field of the infobox. This field is intended for "other notable names for the person, if different from |name= and |birth_name=. This can include stage names, maiden/married names, nicknames, criminal aliases, etc." (see Template:Infobox person).
