Proposed addition: Drought and Wildlife

[edit]
  • Please consider the addition of a section about "Drought and Wildlife":

Drought and Wildlife

[edit]

The Arizona Game and Fish Department maintains 3,000 water catchments[1] located throughout the state. The catchments provide water to wildlife[2] year-round and particularly during the state's hot, dry summer months. Arizona Game and Fish trucks and airlifts water to the catchments. In 2020, 2.4 million gallons[3] of water were delivered to fill the catchments. The first water catchments were constructed in the 1940s[4].

Proposed addition: Funding information

[edit]
  • Please consider the addition of a sentence about funding to the end of the introductory paragraph:

The Arizona Game and Fish Department does not receive any Arizona State General Fund tax dollars. It is funded primarily by revenues generated through the sale of hunting and fishing licenses, tags and stamps as well as the discretionary purchases of hunters and anglers[1].

  • Thank you for your consideration.

Hi AZ Game & Fish via EP the proposed addition is very closely paraphrased from the cited source. Can you reword it? Additionally, do you have an independent source (not from the AZ government) that supports this information? Would be preferable to the website provided, but okay if not. I have marked this request as declined for now, but if the above suggested changes are made, this would be appropriate to add to the article. (Remove the "|D" from the {{request edit}} above to re-open the request.) Best, SpencerT•C 04:56, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Spencer thank you for the feedback and suggestions. There is a new source (news media) and the info has been reworded. Thanks for your time! AZ Game & Fish via EP (talk) 00:08, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
