Played?

[edit]

Has anyone actually played this? Mathiastck 16:21, 16 August 2006 (UTC):[reply]

Yes, quite a lot. Ben W Bell talk 17:37, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, where are you located? :) Mathiastck 18:22, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Says on my User page. Ben W Bell talk 19:08, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not related to the editing of the page, but me and my buds are still trying to work out all the intricacies of this game... It's amazing though.Kendricken 02:30, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes and the game is a case study in poor rule proofreading. Lots of people seem to like it, though. It's fun, but only if you don't mind making up house rules to get yourself out of an intractable hole.(71.192.212.78 (talk) 03:33, 30 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]
Dude, it's Call of Cthulhu. The 'intractable hole' is kinda the point. :D — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 12:22, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Major Rewrite

[edit]

I just made a major edit to the article, both to expand its information and to conform more closely with other board game articles. Let me know if there are any concerns, or if I made any glaring mistakes!

My only problem at the moment is that the History section needs more citations. I may start looking for articles online to support the info here, but if anyone else has sources please add them! -- Kesh 23:24, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your text on the expansion "Curse of the Dark Pharoah" indicates new effects are in place when Nyarlathotep is the nemesis for the game session. I can see nothing in the rules or available errata/FAQ to indicate any specific rules that are to be followed if Nyarlathotep is the Ancient One. Can you please cite the specific effects here? If you were not speaking about specific rules but instead were suggesting the additional materials that come in the expansion have content relative to Nyarlathotep, could you please clarify the entry. Thank you. -- lonadar 00:48, 14 September 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.160.210.244 (talk)

Arkham Horror Wiki (AHW)

[edit]

§12 of WP:ELNO states "one should generally avoid" "links to open wikis".

However, it continues on to say "except those with a substantial history of stability and a substantial number of editors."

I claim that AHW not only is a very useful resource to readers interested in the subject of this article, but that it is stable and with a "substantial" number of editors too. I therefore suggest we keep the link.

Full disclosure: I have made a number of edits to AHW myself, though I do not consider myself a notable contributor by any means.

Deletion images

[edit]

There are disagreements about the use of images in this article, and several are up for deletion. If you have thoughts on the appropriateness of these images, you might want to see Wikipedia:Files_for_deletion/2012_March_21 (search for "Arkham Horror" to find the relevant entries) and Wikipedia:Files_for_deletion/2012_March_17 (search for "Arkham Horror" and "Innsmouth Horror" to find the relevant entries. — Alan De Smet | Talk 16:38, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to thank Stefan2 for his tireless work to ensure that this article has been purged any anything that might help you visualize and better understand how the game is played. I feel bad for visitors for all too many years who came to this article and were assaulted with such regrettably relevant and appropriate images. The thing that improves Wikipedia most is draconian and petty interpretations of the rules. — Alan De Smet | Talk 14:39, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Eldritch Horror Game

[edit]

Under history there is a reference to Elder Sign being released. Should we also include a reference to Eldritch Horror? My understanding is that it is very similar to Arkham Horror but more global in scope and streamlined mechanics. Almost more like a variation? I admit, I don't really know enough about the game to write something, other then it exists.Harris Seldon (talk) 09:24, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
