Instrumentation

[edit]

Before I plunge in and edit what is written here I would like to ask a question. I have been listening to Art's Music for about fifty years and the majority of what I have heard is played on Bari Sax. No doubt the content of this page is well considered and written with a great deal of insight. I am curious why Bari Sax has been completely omitted from this entry? Art played primarily tenor, and occasionally clarinet. Offhand I'm not recalling any tenor recordings, although I wouldn't be surprised if there are some. MikeLempriere (talk) 18:55, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You may be thinking of Pepper Adams. Earlmacdon (talk) 20:23, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. Art was an alto and clarinet man, sometimes dabbling on tenor. Definitely confused with Pepper. 2603:6080:21F0:6000:F2:C134:1A:5A4E (talk) 23:22, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To add to article

[edit]

Basic information to add to this article: more information about Pepper's family background and ethnic heritage. If he was of Italian American heritage, why does the text of the current version of this article fail to mention that, if we intend to be encyclopedic? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 02:03, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently Pepper's parents were of German and Italian heritage. 98.123.38.211 (talk) 02:04, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
