She has won numerous prestigious awards and honours including Vyloppilli Award, Kakkad Award, VT Kumaran Master Award, etc. Born to noted Malayalam poet P K Gopi and Komalam in 1986, Arya Gopi has published four books in two languages – MalakhaMatsyam (Stories, 2003), Jeevante Vaakkukal (Poems, 2006), Sob of Strings (English Poems, 2011) and Avasanathe Manushyan (Poems, 2014). She is a regular contributor to Malayalam and English periodicals. A first rank holder in MA Language and Literature from University of Calicut, Arya is now an Assistant Professor in English at The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode. Short story writer Soorya Gopi is her younger sister. Arya lives with husband Joby Joseph and son Jahan.
