Splitting the article[edit]

I notice this article is about two villages/civil parishes, apparently on the sole basis they share a parish council. There is no place called "Ashburnham and Penhurst". Parish councils are rarely notable but, as an alternative to deletion, I suggest the article is split into Ashburnham, East Sussex and Penhurst, East Sussex with a brief overview of the parish council on each village's article.

Crouch, Swale has already created a draft article for Penhurst, currently at Draft:Penhurst, East Sussex, so I suggest this is moved to article mainspace and Ashburnham and Penhurst is renamed as Ashburnham, East Sussex and edited accordingly.

NB Ashburnham, East Sussex was boldly merged to Ashburnham and Penhurst in 2008. Whatever the solution to this situation, we're going to lose the edit history for one of these pages, but I'm open to alternatisve strategies to sort this problem out. Sionk (talk) 11:06, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Sionk: I'd personally split/restore the Penhurst as suggested and then also restore Ashburnham, East Sussex then move any content at Ashburnham and Penhurst to Ashburnham, East Sussex and then redirect Ashburnham and Penhurst to Ashburnham, East Sussex with attribution. As you note unlike Histon which was moved to the longer name after merging Impington this article has always been at this title while Ashburnham, East Sussex is an older article. @Sionk, Furius, and Clarityfiend: Is it time to enact the AFC and merge Draft:Penhurst, East Sussex in? Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:28, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
