Spelling

[edit]

is it Escuteros or Escuteiros? Chris 16:23, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should be Escuteiros. Escuteros is one of the many misspellings on scout.org. See also pt:Escotismo.
I'll move the page. --jergen 08:37, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article renaming

[edit]

I propose we rename this article. This change is proposed in order to bring this foreign-language Scouting article title into compliance with the spirit of both WikiProject Scouting - Rules Standards, Article names and Wikipedia:Naming conventions. The discussion about this is currently taking place at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Scouting/Translations#Proposed_article_name_changes. --evrik (talk) 22:30, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please list at WP:RM. Patstuarttalk|edits 07:44, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the debate was NO CONSENSUS to move page. Moving it back while waiting for a discussion to conclude would be a purely procedural move, so it's better to leave it where it is until a definite consensus is reached. Then this and similar pages can all be moved at once, if necessary. -GTBacchus(talk) 03:30, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The English translation does not comply with WP:UE since it is not commonly used; generally Scouting organization are referred to by the "native" names by both world Scouting bodies (WOSM and WAGGGS). English translations given by these institutions are only for understanding and differ even on the same website. For more details see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting/Translations. This article and the following examples were moved to an unsourced translation by an possible sockpuppet without relevant contribution on the discussion; after the move the mover vandalized the redirects so that they can't be overwritten. --jergen 10:42, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move back to name the org itself uses-nobody authorized the sockpuppet to move these, since the vote was leaning toward keeping the native name. Chris 19:34, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
