I have just removed a sentence claiming that the Misseiria speak Tama. From a variety of reliable sources (available on request <robinlef@yahoo.com>) the Tama are(were before all the recent Darfur horrors) located on the Darfur/Chad border and have not traditionally been pastoralists of any kind. A number of groups have incorporated into other sedentary tribes and it's not impossible some have been into Baggara sub-groups; however this is quite different from claiming the Misseiria speak Tama. The Misseiria of Jebel Mun, at least, speak Tama. See Edgar, John. A Masalit grammar: with notes on other languages of Darfur and Wadai. Berlin: D. Reimer, 1989. (Sprache und Oralitat in Afrika; 3). I don't know for certain if there are other Misseiria groups or not. - Mustafaa 15:54, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Gawamaa

[edit]

In none of your sources are Gawamaa classed as Baggara. Gawamaa are part of the Ja'alin group and are not classed by MacMichael as one of the Baggara tribes. User:Premeditated Chaos
