In American politics, President Joe Biden has been accused of "bait and switch" by conservatives, for pursuing "a much more progressive agenda than the one on which he campaigned".[1] Democrats have been accused of "bait and switch" by progressives for passing a $778 billion military spending bill while failing to pass the "Build Back Better" social and climate spending package.[2]
