Even considering the losses of about 400 men were true, a German infantry regiment fielded over 3.000 men. "ceased to exist" is hardly the right description for a loss o about 15%. I'll therefore take this passge out. --178.24.117.34 (talk) 21:19, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Silberstern[reply]

Commanding officer

Major Krawutschke was a battalion commander in the 44th regiment. He was not the regimental commander. Pls see Roger Moorhouse: „First to Fight“, page 153.
